Day of Reflection - Marie Curie

Lead creative

The fourth annual Day of Reflection required a complete re-think from previous years. We had been through a substantial rebrand and the UK Government was now involved having asked to support the 2024 Day of Reflection. As a creative team we felt we no longer wanted to build walls, but instead build collective experiences - so I developed the petal device as a way of sharing the name of someone you were thinking of on the day. Either simple interactions on social media, a moment in the privacy of your own home, or a way to bring a collection of petals together a group into one place.

Liz Seabrook was commissioned to photograph our range of storytellers. The intention was to show the range of ways in which we can remember. Rachael, who runs in memory of her dad. Simeon and mother Harriet who use music as a way of processing everything and to remember David. Allan who built a memorial garden to remember Teresa.

A range of assets from organic and paid social media, activity packs for schools and corporate partners, a full microsite working with an outside agency, props for BBC TV, internal Marie Curie comms and collateral used at on the day events.
